Dr. S.S. Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, Dr. Sukhpal Singh, Chairman, Punjab State Farmer’s & Farm Workers' Commission along with the members of Punjab Agriculture Policy visited PHPTC on 18.07.2023. Dr. BVC Mahajan, Director, PHPTC apprised the dignitaries regarding various ongoing activities at the Centre. The dignitaries visited NABL accredited Quality Control Laboratory for estimation of heavy metals and other quality parameters in water and food. Dr. Ritu Tandon explained the importance of government regulated testing laboratories for ensuring quality of water and food in the Punjab state. The officers appreciated and impressed upon further strengthening of the laboratory to provide wholesome testing of the food products to the farmers, industries and other customers. A fruitful interaction was done with Dr. BVC Mahajan, Director, PHPTC, Dr. Swati Kapoor, Food Technologist and Dr. Varsha Kanojia, Scientist (PFE) upon visiting postharvest laboratory wherein transfer of technologies already done by the Centre for the benefit of state and farmers were discussed and research based activities were appreciated to be further commercialized for dissemination among the industries and budding entrepreneurs.
