A farmer group of "ATMA" Jalgaon, Maharashtra visited PHPTC on 12.01.2023 under the 5 days training program, organized by Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana. The scientists of the Centre informed thefarmers about recent postharvest technologies and demonstrated the packaging and storage techniques for fruit and vegetable. They were also made aware of food processing techniques at household level and importance of fruit and vegetable processing in boosting their income. Dr. B.V.C. Mahajan, Director of this Centre told about the banana ripening process and gave solution of many queries of farmers regarding this process. Dr. Varsha Kanojia demonstrated the technologies for packaging, drying and processing of fruits and vegetables.
