A meeting of different procurement agencies such as FCI, Pungrain, Punsup, Punjab Agro, private millers and commission agents was held at Punjab Horticultural Postharvest Technology Centre, P.A.U. Ludhiana to discuss about the calibration of moisture meters for procurement of wheat and paddy. Dr BVC Mahajan Director apprised the officers and stakeholders about moisture meters calibration laboratory established at PHPTC. Sh. G.P.S. Randhawa, General Manager Punjab Mandi Board told that this laboratory has been providing the services to Punjab Mandi Board to calibrate their moisture meters for the last 7 years. He further emphasized about the instructions issued by Additional Chief secretary (Development) that all the procurement agencies, millers and commission agents should make use of the services of this laboratory for calibration and repair of their moisture meters in order to avoid any dispute at the time of procurement of wheat or paddy.  Sh Manikan AGM of FCI shared his experience with the participants that moisture meters calibration services provided by PHPTC are highly satisfactory. Dr Mahesh Kumar Professor gave a detailed presentation about the handling, operation and maintenance of moisture meters.
